Annual Maximums
Most plans have an annual maximum, the most the insurer will pay toward your care each year. Once you reach it, additional costs are your responsibility. The cap can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
We always charge only the BC Fee Guide for general dentists and direct bill all major insurance companies.

Direct billing
Green Apple Dental offers direct billing to insurance companies, so you can focus on your oral health while we handle the paperwork. We work with various providers to minimize out-of-pocket costs and maximize your coverage.
Our team will work closely with you to understand your coverage, explain what’s included, and make sure you’re maximizing your benefits. We can verify your insurance, provide cost estimates and help schedule treatment around your plan’s limits and timelines.

Better understanding coverage
Dental insurance helps cover routine and specialized care. Understanding its limitations helps you avoid surprises.

Many policies have waiting periods for certain procedures, especially major treatments like crowns or braces, from a few months to a year.
Preventive care (cleanings, exams, X-rays) is typically covered at 100%, basic care (fillings, simple extractions) often around 70–80%, and major procedures (crowns, bridges, dentures) around 50% or less.
Cosmetic treatments like whitening or veneers are generally not covered. Advanced treatments like implants or orthodontics may have limited coverage or none.
Some plans do not cover conditions that existed before you enrolled, such as missing teeth or ongoing orthodontic treatment.
Even preventive care may be limited, for example two cleanings per year or one set of X-rays every 1–2 years.
Braces and aligners are not always included. When they are, there are often separate lifetime maximums, longer waiting periods and age limits.
Insurers occasionally deny claims, for example when a procedure is judged not medically necessary or needs pre-authorization first.
